Volunteer Agreement

Ability Tree’s mission is to come alongside families impacted by disability and equip organizations by providing recreation, education, support, and training. We are a Christian-based organization that desires to help our MVPs, families, and volunteers grow closer to the Lord through their interactions and relationships while at Ability Tree. As a volunteer, we ask that while you are at Ability Tree, you refrain from discussing the following topics:
  • Guns and violence
  • Sexual orientation
  • Inappropriate language
  • Dating
  • Drugs and Alcohol
  • Gossiping among peers
Our Ability Tree Staff members will facilitate any conversations regarding the above topics. If any of our MVPs, siblings, or adult students talk about these topics, please let a staff member know. We ask that all our volunteers refrain from discussing any of the above topics with their peers or any of our MVPs, Siblings, or adult students while volunteering here at Ability Tree. Thank you for helping us facilitate appropriate conversations while at Ability Tree.

Volunteer Expectations:
  • Be on time & ready to interact with the MVPs
  • Stay the entire time of programming, unless otherwise communicated
  • Communicate with Lisa if you are unable to come a day that you signed up

    • We ask, if possible, let Lisa know at least 24 hours in advance so she can find coverage!
  • Please leave your phone in the front
  • Please refrain from sharing any snacks with the MVP. Some have allergies.
  • Be engaged with MVP at all times.
  • Sign in on the iPad each day you are here - this helps us keep accurate records. If you do not check in, your volunteer hours will not be recorded.
  • Feel free to post pictures on social media - if there is an MVP in your photo, please double check that they have a photo release and do not use their name.
  • Respectful to all staff, leaders, volunteers, and MVP and Families.
Failure to adhere to this policy could result in dismissal of volunteering at Ability Tree.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please discuss it with the Recreation Director.

By entering my signature electronically, I confirm that I have read, understood and will comply with the volunteer agreement above.
